FBPBSH201 Participate in wild harvesting of native plants for food processing
Application
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to gather and harvest native plants for processing as Australian bush food. Native plants may include fruit, nuts, leaves and/or seed.
The unit applies to individuals who work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to gather, forage, harvest and prepare local native plants for processing and commercial sale.
Legislation, regulations, and by-laws relating to the collection and removal of plant materials from public and private land apply. Users are advised to check with the local, relevant authority.
