This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare, make alterations and maintain props for use in a range of productions in the film, television, entertainment and interactive media industries.
The unit applies to those who work as a member of a team with responsibility for care and maintenance of props for productions. They need to use a range of hand and power tools proficiently to perform their role. Individuals in this position are generally supervised by a props manager or supervisor.
