This unit describes skills and knowledge required to safely manage a variety of specialised finishing processes in the context of independent creative practice. It involves researching options for finishing required works, setting up work spaces, assessing finishing techniques and finalising the finishing process.
The unit applies to those who use aesthetic and technical finishing options with hard materials in their practices, including ceramicists, glass artists, sculptors, jewellers and others.
